International recording artist Billy Don Burns has carried his music all around the world with two #1 hits in Europe and topping the Americana Charts in the United States with the Desperate Men project, unseating Johnny Cash who held the position for 14 weeks.
As a songwriter, Burns' songs have been mined by the likes of Willie Nelson, Razzy Bailey, Connie Smith, Sammy Kershaw, Mel Tillis, Ray Sawyer (Dr. Hook) & many others.
Burn's current CD, Heroes, Friends and Other Troubled Souls, has guest vocal appearances by Willie Nelson, Tanya Tucker and Songwriting Icon Hank Cochran.
Billy Don Burns performs solo or as an acoustic Trio with his friends Jeff Williams and Scott Walker.
Jeff plays lead guitar and provides the best harmony on the planet.  He played in June Carter's band, performing many times with her and her husband Johnny Cash, including an airing of Late Night with David Letterman. Jeff was also in the Eric Hamilton Band on Curb Records, during which time they went on a 50 day, 50 state tour.  Jeff Williams has worked with Billy Don on and off now for 15 years.
Scott Walker plays harmonica & provides phenomonal harmony. Scott's mother was one of country music's Walker Sisters who sing on the Grand Ole Opry with their father and member of the Opry, Billy Walker.  Scott was also in the Eric Hamilton Band on Curb Records.

CDs from international recording artist, Billy Don Burns' discography

"FOUR **** STARS"
-Jorg Feyer, Rolling Stone, Ger.

"He's led the authentic outlaw life and you can
hear it in every note"
-Robert Loy, Country Standard Time

"Honest and often harsh, but so brilliantly
constructed and performed it'll blow you
completely away… Maybe radio doesn't
recognize that, but anyone who does
should give Billy Don a listen."
-Kathy Coleman, About.com

"Burns is about as courageous a writer as you'll find. Nothing is off limits. He confronts the worst and comes out okay. Billy Don Burns should be right up there on your list of country outlaws."
- John Heidt, Vintage Guitar Magazine

"I was there," Burns sings on his new album - and damned if he wasn't."
-Chris Neal, Nashville Scene
Heroes, Friends & Other Troubled Souls

Yes, Billy Don's new CD affirms that outlaw music is still alive and well in the 21st Century.  Vocally adding to the Billy Don Burns declaration are Tanya Tucker, Willie Nelson and Hank Cochran amid an array of true-blue Nashville sessioners. Country fans will be comfortable with this well-interpreted great outlaw-ballad repertoire. Burns is one of the 'best-of-the-new-wine' on songs of emotion mixed with realism. By any classification, here's a hale and hearty plateful of original material in treacle-voiced styling. He could emerge as one of the true greats.
